One of my friends has been telling me about Saturday afternoon jazz The Communist’s Daughter in Toronto and I gotta say, I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a small bar on Dundas W that you wouldn’t look twice when walking pass it. But there was a five piece band in various locations of the bar. Stand up bass and a couple guitars by the window, violin in the opposite corner and the trumpet player/singer standing behind the bar. I think my favourite part was that the singer would serve some drinks during the instrumental solos. Like he’s done here, leaving his trumpet alone.
