going to america

Well last weekend was my first frisbee tournament of the touring season. The Soggy Bottom Bowl was an ideal place to start the season, and I’m not just saying that b/c my team won the tournament. Well I guess I can’t really call them my team yet b/c I’m still in the process of trying otu for them, there’s about 16 guys left on this team and I think that they want to bring it down to about 12 or 13. But thankfully it’s not a one tourny tryout to sus out the last few players b/c I didn’t play my best at it, so I have another chance this weekend as we’re off to PUFF in Pittsburgh. Yeah I know that Pittsburgh isn’t the most beautiful place to go but to be honest I’m not going to see more then the fields and the odd bar. Hell, we’re camping on the fields, so I’ll be lucky to see anything else. At least it won’t be a far walk in the morning to get to the first game. So I’ll have no excuse for not playing well this weekend… so no pressure or anything.

In other news, the job hunt still sux, but what else is new. I think the thing I like right now is that I’m still making tons of friends in TO and they’re all potential contacts. I know people that work at IBM, Kraft, McCain, etc, so hopefully I can use one of those contacts to land something b/c when you’re applying to a large company you need an edge to get your foot in the door or else you’ll lost in the beaurocracy.

On a music note I’ve decided to start making mix CDs at least once every month or two. Remember in the age of tapes when you’d make a tape of you favourite songs? Well I think that MP3s have led us away from that and since I don’t have an MP3 player of any kind, I think that making mix CDs is gonna be a good way to document my listening styles through the years. That way I can listen to them in a few years time and it’ll always take me back to that time when I made the CD. Not to mention it’s good for all the long road trips I’ll be going on for frisbee tournaments.
